TRINITY COUNTY BUDGET HEARING
The board will be meeting on Monday, 9.25.2023 to review the proposed final budget for our current fiscal year. CAO Tuthill led department heads through discussions/negotiations that led to the document we are reviewing on Monday. You can read the (400+ page) Proposed Budget Book by clicking the link below. The meeting starts at 9:00 AM.

CANNABIS ORDINANCE PUBLIC WORKSHOPS
There are two public workshops next week – Tuesday evening in Hayfork and Wednesday evening in Weaverville. A third workshop has been added for the following week – Wednesday evening in Weaverville. This third workshop will be promoted in the Trinity Journal next week to help create awareness. We are allocating three hours for each of these meetings.

Zoom access will be available for each of these workshops. It’s important to note that the opportunity to engage in the conversation will be more limited on Zoom. The format for these meetings involves facilitated discussion with real-time interaction with participants. Here is additional information about the workshops.

SCIENCE ON TAP
I’m sorry that I won’t be able to attend this month’s session – “Rebuilding a Culture of Fire: People, Policy and Practice.” This presentation focuses on engaging community members to expand prescribed fire education and practices. This event takes place on Wednesday, 9.27.2023 at Trinity County Brewing Company.
