This special board meeting was dedicated to approving the 2025/2026 Budget that was presented during the 9.23.2025 Budget Hearing. No other county business was conducted. The recommended budget reflects the results of weeks of discussions, analysis, and compromise. The proposed $150,910,034 budget is approximately $2 million less than what was originally requested by department heads.
A. COUNTY MATTERS
A.1. County Administrative Office – Adopt a resolution which adopts the final budget for FY 25/26. $150,930,034.
- Public Comment
- Concern shared that additional funding was not provided to the IT Department. Comments also shared regarding comments made by Supervisors regarding a public-driven tax increase mentioned in recent meetings.
- CAO Trent Tuthill shared that the budget includes $20,000 in additional funding and (related) expenditures for Library Services. This action is to incorporate the funding the Friends of the Library raised via a grant late last fiscal year.
- Supervisor Leutwyler shared that (based on his experience in the technology arena and discussions with IT leaders and the CAO) he did not have concerns about the funding level for our IT department.
- The board approved the budget and related resolution as presented.
