Team Up Against Polio

Please join the Rotary Club of Weaverville & Our Trinity Preparatory Academy Girls Volleyball Teams as they team up to eradicate polio and empower our youth.

Our TPA Girls Volleyball Teams will be generating donations with every game they win this season.  Get in on the fun by pledging a certain $ amount for every game the girls win between September 10 and October 22.

With 112 possible wins this season, our girls could generate $112 for every $1.00 pledged by members of our community.  Note – Funds will be collected at the end of the season.

See below for sample pledge amounts.

We will celebrate the girls’ success (in competition and in making a difference) at Up North Confectionery & Mercantile on Global Polio Day – Monday, October 24, 2022.

Your pledge can make a difference in the lives of our girls while giving them the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others!

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.  If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

Sports programs like our TPA Girls Volleyball are so important for our youth.  Girls who participate in sports (on average) have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem, have a more positive body image, and perform better academically.  Team practice, competition, and fundraising all provide opportunities for our girls to grow as individuals, and as a team.

Our TPA Girls Volleyball Teams rely on fundraising to provide for new uniforms, team shirts, (much needed) new team equipment, and the money required to participate in tournaments.

75% of funds will go to Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate Polio across the globe.
25% of funds will go to the Girls’ Volleyball Team to fund uniforms, tournament expenses, etc.
