Embracing the Journey

I love to hike.  Most of the time I have no real destination in mind.  In fact, my favorite hikes involve just wandering in whichever direction catches my eye.  I’m not exactly sure why this particular way of exploring nature fills me up so much?  But it does.
Sometimes I think that we need to give ourselves more opportunities to explore life in the same way.  So much of our time is committed to achieving goals, meeting expectations… keeping deadlines.  This can leave little time for the heart and mind to simply explore.

I don’t really do New Year’s resolutions.  I do, however, hope to spend more time in the coming year… just exploring.

About the Author:

My work journey has taken me from dishwasher to CEO, from fast food to cloud-based technology, from Davenport, Iowa to more than 30 countries around the globe. Along the way, I have enjoyed leading, contributing, mentoring, strategizing, innovating and giving back. One important lesson learned along the way is that there are opportunities to make a difference in all aspects of our lives. This has made the journey all the more rewarding.
